stereo mix audio recording on dell m1330 in windows 7
| March 27th, 2010The dell I’m on is a 64 bit guy with the 92xx sound card from singmatel audio.
Dell might tell you that the hardware feature is missing.
According to … oh, wait it works. You just need an old driver. Why would an old driver work better than a new one? I don’t know ask DEVO, the band. Maybe they know something I don’t.
Go forth and find the driver R171789.exe from dell.
I have renamed the file on my system to:
“R171789_GOLD__92xx_32and64_bit_stereo_mix
_recording_driver__run_with_xp_compatability_
_after_unistalling_old_driver_BUT_BEFORE_REBOOT.exe”
You should un-install all audio drivers (make sure they are really gone). Then install this bad boy and reboot.
use the XP sp3 compatibility mode in properties when you run it!
also you need to right click in your recording devices and ‘show disabled devices’ AND WANG THERE YOU GO!
It might work in Vista and Xp as well?
